Training

   Dressage and Sport Horse training is offered by professional trainer, Sarah Doyle. Sarah is a USDF bronze medalist and a former full-time working student for top Grand Prix trainer, Hokan Thorn. She has also received training from Katherine Bateson-Chandler (2010 WEG Competitor), Bailey Cook, and Gerd Zuther.

   She is currently training with Patrick Tigchelaar: www.TDStables.com  

   Numerous Championship placings and excellent owner references keep WHE's training program sought after. Sarah is a leading sport horse trainer on the Arabian circuit. She has been competing at the Regional and National level since 1994. Sarah also trains horses for the Open USDF shows and has been competing in region 1 since 1999. 

   Each training horse is worked minimum 5 x weekly for 30-45 minutes. The goal for every Dressage horse and  student  at WHE is to move up one level each year. Lessons can be arranged on your own horse in training with Sarah at no additional cost, (except weekends). Private or group turnout available. Full training cost: $900/month or $1000/month for stallions.

   Training Services included in monthly cost:
- Holding for farrier/vet
- Mane pulling, whisker trimming
- Blanketing/changing blankets
- Laundry care (pads, polos, DSBs & sheets)
- Show prep (day before show), includes bathing, extra tack & equipment cleaning, ect..
- Medical needs: bandaging, handwalking, cold-hosing, IV or IM injections
- Night check (between 9:00pm-10:00pm) 7 days/week

   Training Services not included in monthly cost:
- Farrier, Jeremy Fox of Madison VA: $40 trim, $95 front shoes, $150 shoes all around
- Veterinary care
- Deworming
- Body clip: $150, partial clip: $100
- Trailer storage: $80/month
- Heavy weight blanket cleaning & blanket repair
- Horse show fees

  At WHE, we also provide in-hand training for inspections, DHSB classes, and breed specific in-hand classes. Tommy Doyle has been handling for breed shows and inspections for over 20 years.   Tommy has presented foals and mature horses for the AHS, AHHA, AWS, Old/NA, GOV, and Westphalian, (see our show schedule for 2012 dates).
